Rue-anemone – a real cutie

Anemonella thalictroides

This post is just an excuse to show a photo of one of the prettiest little flowers one can find in the Ontario woods: rue-anemone. In Ontario, it is restricted to the Carolinian zone, i.e. the Deep South, and it is not common.

It was growing near some wood anemone (Anemone quinquifolia), another small plant with very similar flowers but less delicate leaves.

Anemone quinquefolia.
