Tree peony using tinted graphite

Tree peony, ws pencil and tinted graphite, 2012.

For this drawing of a tree peony bloom, I used tinted graphite for subtlety and pumped up the pinks and greens with water soluble coloured pencils. This was the first time I have used the tinted graphite and I like it a lot!

I am still working on several other white flowers. They don’t seem to be finishing themselves (darn it). I guess I needed the excitement of working with a new medium to get this drawing finished.
